Photography progress so far

HAPPY NEW YEAR(cue cheering crowd sound effects)!!!!!!!!! Hey guys. I'm really sorry I haven't posted another blog in such a long time, I've just had a lot of things to do. We moved to the Hudson Valley last year in August. It's a really nice place and it's filled with birds, deer and squirrels. There was even a muskrat. The birds are currently the most exciting part for me. I have recently decided to become a wildlife photographer. School here is great and I was getting along with everyone very well in 6th grade. Anyway, moving on to the birds. I've been having some very interesting types of birds this year so far, and some unfamiliar birds that have popped up. One time I even saw an uncommon Lincoln's Sparrow right in my backyard. I only managed to get about two good pictures though, because it kept moving it's head around so the rest of the time it always looked blurry. But boy am I glad that I had my camera with me. I also made a lot of progress this spring. I saw a lot of new things to add to my list, even two groundhogs! One thing I wish I got a picture of last month was an adult Bald Eagle flying right through town. I think it's one of those rare eagles that breed here in the summer. I also saw a lot of new warblers (which are all the excitement of the spring) and tyrant flycatchers, including an Olive-sided Flycatcher at Bear Mountain. I also saw a lot of Ospreys throughout the spring. But I think there's still more to come because we're taking trips to Martha's Vineyard and Southern California. I'd think there would be lots to see. I'm mostly excited for the whales and possible dolphins and seals. I'm not going outside much anymore because it's so hot and we have so much to do throughout the summer, but I might have some time to at least camp out in some of the parks. And now for some pictures (click on the image to see it full size): Mystery warbler To be continued....
