For some reason, some guy with a parrot on his shoulder was calling it a Japanese Duck, even though it's not a duck at all and it's not from Japan, either. It's actually from around the hudson. Here's a picture of the parrot:

So today, I saw a non-breeding Double-crested Cormorant at Morningside Park, NY. Here's a picture I took:
